Today was a Fairy Tale

I thought it would be fun to take a moment and write out Landon and I's "Fairy Tale Romance" as many older ladies call it. I have been bugged and bugged and bugged to write this down....

I guess it really all started in December of 2006, I had my heart broken by someone I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with. Granted I was totally mistaken by this thought...I was only 17 at the time and well hey He was my escape from my mother and well I like to call it my "Senior Rebellious Stage". But it was a good time and I wouldn't trade it for anything now (I really wish we could be friends again...but alas I ruined that one *SUPID 17 YR OLD ME*) ANYWHO... Well I reconnected with a Friend of mine Michael T. Woodley from Evanston, we really got to know each other again and he became my best friend...wait no...a brother to me... like almost the twin brother I never had, even though he was a year younger than me. Well Heaven needed him more and he was taken from me, his family and friends February 24th, 2007. He was on his way home to Evanston after asking me to Prom both my senior and his Junior proms. I shattered into a million pieces I don't remember much... everything went by in a blur.. I dont remember much of his funeral I dont remember much of the next 3-4 weeks...it was school, work, home.. I was a zombie. Until one day I got told that my mother may have found me a date to prom... (CAN WE SAY FREAK OUT!!)... anyways, I was working one night when the phone rang.. my co-worker looks at me nad said "Someone wanted to know if you were working" of course the thoughts that ran through my head "OH CRUD I look gross, my hair is a mess, I have no make-up on, I am greasy, sweaty and just plain gross" The next day Connie comes to me and says that her son Landon would like my cell number... I gave it to her. I remember I am on my way to Evanston now...wait I dont remember ( I TOLD YOU IT WAS A BLUR THOSE WEEKS) but anyways.. Landon called me a few days later and asked me if I wanted to go to dinner to get to know each other better. I being a chicken didnt even called him I replied to his voicemail through the voicemail service... ha ha... and said sure lets do it. We met a few nights later for dinner at Los Cabos (this was my first real date, guy came and got me took me there and PAID for it). I was soooo excited. Next day I text him and said that I had had fun the night before and would like to do it again he agreed. So we went for a hike that night and sat up on a rock and just talked and watched the sun go down. We were nearly inseperable for the longest time. Finally prom came around and landon kissed me that morning (of prom we were out till 3am in Rock Springs ha ha) then after prom he was kissing me again.. I looked at him and said I am not going to be friends with benefits its either friends or a relationship choose. So the next night he took me up to the lake handed me a box opened it and it was a glass frog with a poem about princes and princesses... he asked me if he could be my prince... and since then its been a fairy tale!! Now we have a beautiful baby boy and been Married for two years!!!

Baths

Joshua HATES his bath time. I have tried about everything I can think of to make the time more relaxing for him. However, I am taking the last desperate attempt... I am buying a new baby bathtub. The one we have is all plastic and has a really annoying leg seperater (if that is what it is called) and I hate it because the only time josh is calm is when he is covered up to his neck in warm water and with this tub he has to have that stupid thing in the middle of his back to have the water to his neck which  akes him upset too! UGH.. I love water, so does landon and I would love to take Joshua swimming one day.. but if he doesnt like water Landon and I are in trouble because we are Water Babies!!! My favorite though is putting Josh in Towels.. I have about three hooded ones that I love... One is a dragon, a shark and a frog. Here are some pictures of my little man in his shark towel...

2 Months and Counting

Josh is now two months old! Well as of 3/25/2010 he is. It is amazing how just in two months how far they come and grow and the new things they learn to do.

Josh is smiling...cooing...giggling (sometimes I have only heard it once) ... and is awake much more everyday. We are currently almost sleeping through the night, we have 4-6 hour streaks every night. I am pretty lucky!!

We are getting family pictures done next weekend seems the only family pictures we have with all of us I am half asleep because I just delievered him!! And with Landon's work schedule its nearly impossible to get anything scheduled.

Landon got a promotion!! YAY he is now a Night Supervisor, means pay raise but he still has to work nights which is the worst part but it means he will one day get bumped up to Day Supervisor.

We are also looking at a few places to rent FINALLY!!! All of which we can have LJ in!!!

Easter is coming and the easter bunny has put together Josh's Easter basket.. It's ready to go! :) I'll take pictures of it Sunday morning with him in his easter suit!!!

Mother's day is coming up too... its crazy how fast this year is going by already!!!

Uh Oh little man is getting upset...gotta run!!

@ 4:19pm I was handed the most beautiful thing I have ever seen...
i saw my husband become a father
my whole life changed.

Its amazing how quickly the time goes by. I wouldn't change the last 6 1/2 weeks for anything. Josh is such a mellow baby. I am a very very lucky mommy and I know this. He sleeps for 4+ hours at a time at night and only fusses when he is sleepy or hungry and if he is sick.

He is starting to lift his head up more and more everyday, and one of those things every new parent looks forward to is that first smile...and oh boy.. His first smile came at 4:30am after two hours of being wide awake and mommy crying because I was soooo sleepy, he looked at me gave me this look like whats wrong and smiled the biggest toothless grin you have ever seen in your life... It made that morning all the more worth it!!!

He is growing up soooo fast I really cannot believe he is almost two months old already!!! He is my pride and joy and holds every little piece of my heart... well him and his daddy share it!!

I love both my boys!!!!!!!!
Now I am going to bed to get some shut eye before the little guy wakes up again in a few hours!!!

Labor and Delievery

I finally have a few seconds to sit down and write this down before I forget.

I was suppose to be induced Wednesday the 27th. Well all night Sunday night I had the urge to clean and clean some more, my poor 38weeks4day pregnant body couldn't do much though. I was having problems falling asleep and finally looked at the clock for the last time at about 1am.

3am comes around and I feel like I need to go to the bathroom. As I sit there I realise I am cramping up a bit...hmmm... thinking nothing of it I try to lay down... over the next hour the pain gets a little worse. I finally called Landon about 4:45 to tell him he might want to just be prepared to come home just in case and that I would call him after my appointment at 10:30 that day. Landon asked me to go to the hospital and I was in denial horribly in denial. I finally timed my contractions from 5 to about 5:45 and they were coming every 3-6 minutes and were :45sec to 1:30 long. I called my friend Val who took me to the hospital where I was admitted.

The nurse in L&D when I got there didnt think they would keep me because I could still talk through my contractions, and seemed ok. Well they did shift change and come to find out I was at a 3. They called my doctor who came in about 8am and let me know that they were for sure keeping me and that I could get my epidural because I was at a 4 at this time. So I called and let everyone know it was time to start heading for the hospital.

Epidural was NOTHING, it made me a pretty happy person. About 10am they came in and broke my water, in which they saw a little tinge so they let me know we would have a respitory person in the delievery room just in case. Everything slowed down for a couple hours long enough for Landon, my mom, and landon's mom to get there. I finally about 2 got the horrible urge to push, I was only at an 8. We were calling the nurse in every 15 minutes at this point to check me because the urge got worse and worse.

Finally at about 3 I got to push. While I was pushing they thermostat in the room broke causing the heater to be on full blast. So between the heater being on there was the Doctor, the L&D nurse, Respitory Nurse, Nursery Nurse, Anastesiologist, another nurse, my mom, landon and me. I wore out after about an hour of pushing. So the doctor decided to try the vacuum, which worked!! Otherwise I would have had to have gone to the C-Section to deliever him.

Joshua Michael was born January 25th 2010 at 4:19pm he was 6lbs. 11oz. he is the cutest little boy and very very laid back. He only cries when he is getting his diaper changed, and when we are changing his clothes. I am so happy that he is finally here and cannot wait to watch him grow up.

Inducement Jan. 27th

Inducement. Yes people are going to FREAK OUT ... My EDD is Feb. 3rd, while I would love to sit here and wait for Josh to make his apperance on his own I have some circumstances that some other mothers to be may not have. My husband cannot come home until A) I am in the hospital and STAYING which then he would have to wait to leave location which can take anywhere from immidetly to an hour and thats IF I CAN GET A HOLD OF HIM!!! or with the situation now B) Being induced, he gets to come HOME sleep in his own bed TWO nights before and we get to spend our anniversary together, and my strongest support will be with me through out it all.

No I don;t have a medical reason and I understand that the chance of C-Section goes up considerably, I have no doubt in my body to do what it needs to do. My doctor and I have gone over the risks I have done the research and my husband and I and my doctor have decided that it is in our best interest to induce.
If I have to have a c-section yes I will be upset, yes i will cry, yes it will suck major monkey balls but if thats what it takes to get my baby boy here healthy so be it!!

I understand women's bodies have been giving birth for all of time and that we can do it naturally, but really what was the death rate in newborns and mom's back in the day before all of the medical advancements? I personally am not willing to risk my life or my baby's life in order to have a "Natural" delievery.

This is NOT a bash on anyone who is for the all natural method or no epidural but for me... I am a 100% PAIN MEDICATION, HOSPITAL, type of a person. It's what works for me and I am SICK and Tierd of having to explain myself to people about my choices... My son is healthy, I am healthy, we have no reason to wait more than passed next Wednesday and we have no reason to take him next wednesday, however, he will be making his apperance and be in our arms by Thursday evening, Friday morning! I personally cannot wait!!! As I know my family can't either....

with that said... I LOVE MY BABY BOY, I LOVE MY HUSBAND and we are putting our full trust into the doctor that we chose for our care!
